Thank you for your story.
The main shock to me is that constant need for *secrecy*. To constantly have to hide even the smallest details, like mere redness on the face, or simple ear piercings. And to hide it even from the people closest to you, for decades... That seems incredibly heavy on one’s soul.
I wish you a light heart and a carefree life.

Oh my what a wonderful story. Thank you so much Fran for sharing it. It is an inspiration, just as you intended, and for me it rings so true. Although I am a decade and a half younger than you, I too remember the tribulations of realising that you were "different" from others, and the worry that you would never find a lover to accept you. Shopping by mail order, and later perfecting that slightly awkward " I'm shopping for my girlfriend" look whilst queueing up to pay at Marks & Spencer....oh yes I was there ! Mostly though your story shows that you can find a partner and I am so glad that you and Justine found each other. My own wife and I took a longer path to acceptance but now she is very pleased with her wife and me..I can be what I always knew I should. So that you Fran for this great inspiration!
