I like the references to the New England vampire panic here. I can’t deny I’m a bit of a folklore nerd.

Yep! This is one of the first shorts I read on here. :D

The selkie tried to warn him, but nope. This is why you read instruction manuals, or in this case, listen to the maker. XD

I've wondered if the boy, now a girl, would remain a girl for the duration having the seal skin on or if she would remain as a girl from then on? Was that ever considered? Or is there an actual selkie account someplace that specifically describes what would happen long afterwards?

Author's Response: I've never heard of a human using a stolen selkie skin to do anything but blackmail the selkie, but I haven't read a huge number of selkie stories, either. The selkie in this story obviously had heard of someone -- probably a selkie or other fairy, but maybe a female human -- putting a selkie skin on over clothes, and dying as a result, but had never heard of a male human putting on a selkie's skin.

How can there be 7 worlds if there are 9 stories and 6 authors?

Author's Response: There are nine *chapters* in TGS configuration terms. One of them is the framing story and table of contents, and one is the afterword. Technically, I suppose there are eight worlds, since the framing story is not in the same setting as any of the seven main stories (though it's in the same setting as the framing story from one of the earlier mixed tapes).
