Are you sure you didn't lift this from a dream you had? It reads not so much like a narrative tale than as a dream story, where things happen just because, and no attempt at logic or explanations are necessary or given. Which is fine. Dream sagas create one hell of an impact, the best of them affecting and occupying your awake time for several hours as your now lucid brain attempts to make sense of what that was. Course, me being me, when I awake from it (and still half asleep) I try to extend it or find some way to make sense of the thing. I enjoyed the story; it passed the time in the waiting room of my mom's Podiatrist as I waited for her to get done.

Author's Response: I honestly do not remember most of my dreams, but I doubt it. I am pretty confident I can trace the inspiration to several stories I read elsewhere, and since they were occupying too much of my mind I needed to write them down somehow. Glad to hear you enjoyed it! Now that it's out there, I can move on to more of my other stories. You know, when I stop being busy.

interesting... but theres some questions... What caused maya to become trapped in that palace as a boy? Did maya do it to herself with her own magic?

Author's Response: That was never answered, and wasn't supposed to be. This was more of a story that wouldn't get out of my mind, so here it is type of thing
