I caught the referenve to the blood immediately after the reveal. And to answer the question posed in the intro -- I would never wish to achieve my wish at the cost of an innocent life. That aspect left me cold, and put a chill on an otherwise fine story.
It also caused me to think that there were other motives here, besides the financial, for the creatures who were the agents of the change. Suddenly I'm thinking "human sacrifice."
Thanks for sharing it with us!

k... so where is the original Pandora? Interesting tale to be sure
Author's Response: Well, as I mentioned before, there's a hint toward the end of the story that Fredo put the hit (so to speak) on the original Pandora, thereby getting her out of the way so the "new Pandora" could take over. (I was trying to be subtle, but it may have been too subtle.) It's a bit of a grim twist, but it does obliquely address an issue that many TG stories simply ignore.

But now that I think of it... what happened to the original Pandora?
Author's Response: It is subtle, true, but there's a hint near the end of the story that Fredo "took care of business" (if you get my drift)...
